May Allah have mercy on his soul. Br. Mikaeel Jackson returns to his creator.
This is simply a reminder. Not a glorification, or a tribute of Br. Mikaeel (a.k.a Michael Jackson). He was a man. Spent his time on this Earth in his journey toward his final destination. He takes with him only that which he has collected in preperation for the Hereaftere. Let us remeber our mortality.
“To Allah we belong and to Him we shall return”
Surat al-Baqarah Ch. 2 Verse 156
Al-Fudhayl ibn Iyyâdh (May Allah have mercy on him) said to a man, “How many (years) have come upon you?” He replied, “Sixty years.” He said,“Therefore, for sixty years you have been going to your Lord and you are about to reach (Him).” So the man said, “To Allâh we belong and to Him we shall return!” So al-Fudhayl asked, “Do you know the meaning of that (statement)? You are saying, I belong to Allah as a servant and I am going to return to Him. So whoever knows that he belongs to Allah as a servant and that he will return to him, then he should know that he will be stopped. And whoever knows that he will be stopped, then he should know that he will be questioned. And whoever knows that he will be questioned, then let him prepare an answer for the question.”

WEEK 23: THE GREEN SHOW – Everything you ever wanted (or didn’t want) to know about the colour and what it means
Host: Omar (GreenKufi)QuranArRahmaan [ch. 55 | Recited by Abdullah Basfar -عبد الله بن علي بصفر ] Discussion
Well, the colour itself is a one we see very often around us. Almost every plant is green or some shade of it. Green is restful to the eye. Studies show that a green environment can reduce fatigue. Green In the Quran: Most importantly is that Allah subhanahu wa taala describes many of the blessing and rewards of paradise as green. HE says in Surat Al-Insaan: Apparently, many Muslims nations choose green in their flags to represent the greenery of nature. Since it is a responsibility that Allah has entrusted us with, and He often commands us to ponder His creation. In fact, similar to many colours, that are given a distictive name, the green often used in Muslim symbols and the likes is referred to as Islamic Green. Abu Ramthah said: “I saw the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) wearing two green garments.” (Reported by al-Tirmidhi, who said, this is a ghareeb hasan hadeeth, and by al-Nisaa’i, 5224). Why aren’t we always green. Why must our greenness be deciduous like our kufis and hijabs in the evening when we reach home. Why aren’t we like the date palm, giving shade, beauty, fruits, shelter to all of Allah’s creation all of the time. WHY MUST WE BE GREEN? 2- Muslims should seek to protect and preserve the environment because by so doing they protect Allah’s creatures which pray to Him and praise Him. Humankind might not be able to understand how these creatures praise Allah but this does not mean that they do not do so, Allah says: (The seven heavens and the earth, and all beings therein, declare His glory: There is not a thing but celebrates His praise, and yet ye understand not how they declare His Glory!) (Al-Israa’ 17: 44) 3- The environment contains Allah’s creatures which the Muslim scholars consider to also deserve protection. 4- Also among the reasons why Islam seeks to protect and preserve the environment is that Islam, as a way of life, is established on the concept of good (khayr). Therefore it is expected that Islam will protect the environment once it is understood that such protection is good by itself. The Qur’an states: (He whoso do good an atom’s weight will see it. And whoso do ill an atom’s weight will see it.) (Az-Zalzalah 99: 7-8) In Islam, humans are expected to protect the environment since no other creature is able to perform this task. Humans are the only being that Allah has “entrusted” with the responsibility of looking after the earth. This trusteeship is seen by Islam to be so onerous and burdensome that no other creature would ‘accept’ it. Allah says: (Lo! We offered the trust unto the heavens and the earth and the hills, but they shrank from bearing it and were afraid of it and man assumed it Lo! he is a tyrant and fool.) Safar 15 – Islamic Black History
Host: Ahmed Khalil
Discussion:
As the title of today’s show suggests we’re going to talk about black history from an Islamic perspective. Before we delve into this we need to think about if this is something that merits a Muslim perspective. The reality is that not only did Islam teach us about equality of all human beings regardless of their colour, which would be merit enough to give this topic some dedicated air time. But also, unfortunately racism and prejudice is still very much a Jaahily relic that manifests itself in the attitudes, actions, and words of many Muslims until this day. This of course has nothing to do with what Islam teaches us. In fact the prophet peace be upon him would condone the racist statements that early Muslim converts would utter in reference to the first Muathin of the Muslims who was of East African Decent.
